Large-scale energy storage batteries applied to automotive drives, load levels, the basic requirements of high power density, high energy density, and low cost. In order to achieve optimum performance and good economic benefits, the electrode material used must be high activity and in nature, lithium and sodium as the highest quality, the highest anode activity, rich in storage, should be such a high Performance Battery ideal positive material. Due to high activity, these alkali metals cannot be used in a water solution electrolyte, and therefore two new types of electrolyte-melt salt electrolytes and solid ion conductors are developed.
The battery of the molten salt electrolyte is in a molten state in which the electrolyte is in a molten state, and the temperature of the solid electrolyte battery must also be higher to maintain the electrolyte sufficiently high conductivity, and to eliminate the electrode and electrolysis. Issue, usually, the electrode is also maintained in a liquid state. This is a new type of power supply, which uses a temperature required to be higher than room temperature, so it is called a high temperature battery.
Many technical issues related to such batteries have been resolved, such as reliability, cycle life, and security. The challenge is to establish a mass production process. At present, several high-temperature batteries are produced in an annual output of tens of thousands of batteries. In addition, it is now conducting more in-depth development research on these batteries, and there may be one or several high-temperature batteries in the near future.
